What is the difference between the courses?
The PPF accelerator program consists of two courses which teach you how to use Power BI to create dynamic, data-driven financial reports. You’ll learn to visualize financial data, build interactive dashboards, and streamline reporting processes to support better decision-making in finance. The first course provides the foundations of data model design, DAX and visualisation and the second course extends this to more advanced concepts such as dynamic Income Statements, interactive visual elements, custom visuals and securing/governing reports.
What will I learn through this program?After completing the program you will have mastered Power BI to import financial data, create visualizations, design reports and automate data transformation. Explore the overview interactions above to learn more!
Who is this course designed for?We target professionals such as financial analysts, accountants, and Business Intelligence enthusiasts who want to leverage Power BI for financial reporting. However, the skills gained through the course will be incredibly useful to anyone interested in learning Power BI in any domain. No prior Power BI experience is required, but basic finance knowledge is helpful.
Do I need Power BI software to take this course?Access to Power BI Desktop (free to download for PC only – not available for Mac) is  needed to follow along with hands-on exercises.

In the overview module there are instructions for downloading Power BI Desktop if you don’t already have it and you’ll be guided through any set up steps.
How long does the course take to complete?The time taken to complete the e-learning content will depend on each individual though in general each course contains 15-20 hours of material (including videos and interactions).

Where this is supplemented with cohort-based lessons (or some choose to do this instead of the e-learning), there are 10 hours of these sessions run over a 4-week period for each course. 

For the 1:1 training, 4 hours of personal training sessions are included in this bundle at a mutually agreed time.
Is this course suitable for beginners?Absolutely! The course covers the core concepts of Power BI with little assumed knowledge! The first five topics of the first course are completely FREE.

The second course covers more advanced concepts and builds directly on the first course; some people choose to wait to gain more hands-on experience with Power BI before embarking on the second course whereas others go straight in!
Will I receive a certificate upon completion?Yes, you’ll earn a certificate of completion for each course to showcase your Power BI skills in financial reporting, which you can share on LinkedIn or with employers.
Are there any prerequisites for this course?No specific prerequisites are required in terms of skills, but familiarity with Power BI (and/or Power Query and DAX) as well as basic financial concepts (e.g., budgets, profit and loss statements) will help you get the most out of the course.

You will need a PC (or virtual Windows desktop in a Mac environment) in order to run Power BI desktop which is advised for taking the course. If you already have Power BI desktop in your corporate environment, it is recommended that as up to date version is used – at least September 2024 in order to utilise some of the newer features covered in the course
